At a calcium and dolomite quarry in Górno, Poland, Mr Waldemar Lach works as a production manager for Kopalnia Józefka Sp. z o.o. and has been doing so for many years. He has 45+ years of experience and knows exactly which type of equipment this geographical environment demands.

The quarry extracts 1,000,000 tonnes of minerals each year, and with two operating shifts extracting 6,000 tonnes each day, it is absolutely crucial that the equipment in the quarry is extremely durable and of the highest quality.

Safety and efficiency are key in a quarry. During his time spent at the site, Mr Lach observed that overspill from the company's former buckets made surfaces slippery and caused the wheels on the wheel loader to spin, creating dangerous situations.

In collaboration with Maciej Trzcionka from Hitachi Kiesel, Mr Lach specified and configured an original Hitachi bucket for the quarry and its two ZW330-6 wheel loaders, based on Mr Lach's experience in the quarry.
